Priesthood and Family Department Service Mission

I was set apart for this mission by stake president Cooper Best on 14 January 2024. Below are a few of the projects I worked on:

• Website. Reviewed web pages to identify and unpublish outdated content.
• Advocates for Come, Follow Me. Helped with an effort to encourage members who promote Come, Follow Me learning and teaching. Updated a list of advocates. Met with many of them, along with department leadership, to learn from them and encourage them. Helped organize annual events with advocates.
• Independent Advocates. Attended monthly meetings to coordinate work with various people and organizations who support the work of the Church.
• General Handbook AI Assistant. Helped with the implementation of an AI answer bot for the General Handbook. Reviewed and verified the accuracy of answers provided by the bot. Drafted wording to better train the answers provided by the AI assistant. Helped develop a way for the AI assistant to self-monitor the accuracy of its answers and notify us when answers deviated from prescribed “best” answers. These efforts laid the foundation for Ai assistants on other collections of Church content.
• Area Support Division. Consulted with and assisted this division.
• Department Historical Resource. Spent several hundred hours cleaning up a site that contained over 100,000 historical files, including chronologies, histories, timelines, and white papers on various subjects.
